Babe Ruth softball
The District 8 Babe Ruth Softball meeting will be held tonight at 7:30 in the boardroom of the Pittard, Perry and Crone offices. All coaches and anyone interested in coaching girls softball are invited to attend the meeting. If you are unable to attend but would like more information contact Leigh Tillman at 242-6665.
Parks and Rec. coaches meeting
The Mount Olive Parks and Recreation Department will hold a meeting for youth basketball coaches Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room located at 114 E. James St. Anyone interested in coaching a youth basketball team should attend. The season begins Dec. 4 and continues into Feb. For more information contact Tom Swinson at 658-9539 or 658-9388.
RYSA golf tournament
The second annual Rosewood Youth Sports Association fall golf tournament will be held Oct. 28 at Lane Tree Golf Club with a shotgun start at noon. A box lunch will be provided and cost is $50 per player. Trophies will be awarded for top three teams, and there will also be longest drive and closest to the pin prizes awarded. RYSA Golf Tournament
The second annual Rosewood Youth Sports Association fall golf tournament will be held Thurs. Oct. 28th at Lane Tree Golf Club at noon. A box lunch will be provided. Cost is $50 per player. For more information please contact Stan Adams at 735-7134 or Richard Clark at 734-8388.
Exchange Club golf tourney
The Exchange Club’s “Feast of the East” golf tournament will be held Oct. 29 at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course. Entry fee is $50 per player and all teams must be pre-registered. Proceeds benefit youth programs for Wayne County 4-H and the Goldsboro Family YMCA. For more information call Howard Scott at 731-1521.
Spring Creek basketball camps
The Spring Creek basketball coaching staff is conducting a boys’ camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 30. Registration is $30 and includes a T-shirt. Coach Sonny Kilpatrick is directing the camp. For more information, telephone Spring Creek at 751-7160.
Goldsboro Pistons tryouts
The Goldsboro Pistons will hold AAU basketball try-outs Oct. 30 for ages 10-under, 11-under and 12-under at Greenwood Middle School. Tryout times are as follows: 10-U (10-11:30 a.m.); 11-U (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.); 12-U (1-3 p.m.). RYSA basketball
Rosewood Youth Sports will conduct registration for youth basketball on Saturday mornings in October from 9 a.m. until noon at the Rosewood Elementary School soccer fields. Age groups are from 5-15 and cost is $50. Call Richard Clark at 734-8388 for more information.
Goldsboro winter sports
Winter sports tryouts begin Nov. 1 at Goldsboro High School. All student-athletes must have a current and valid physical on file with athletics director Randy Jordan in order to try out. For more information, telephone Jordan at 731-5930.
Wayne County AAU girls basketball
Open gym tryouts will be held October 24 and 31 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Greenwood Middle School Gym. If you are 12-16 years old, serious about basketball and wish to play after the school season is over, please come try out.
MOC softball tryouts

Cobra Classic

Goldsboro Parks and Rec

Spring Creek Youth Basketball
The Spring Creek Youth Association will hold signups for youth basketball for grades K-8 on Saturdays starting October 16 at the Spring Creek Elementary School baseball field from 10 a.m. until noon. YMCA youth basketball

MOC-UNC game trip
There is a trip planned for fans to attend the basketball exhibition between Mount Olive College and the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team at the Dean E. Smith Center on Nov. 12. A ticket and a bus ride to and from the game is $35, but there are limited seats available. Call Tommy Turner at 658-3258 for more information.
MOC softball clinic

Lookouts softball
The Carolina Lookouts girls fastpitch softball team, based out of the Rocky Mount/Nashville area, is seeking a quality pitcher and one utility player for its 16-and under team. One person can fill both spots if qualified. The Lookouts will be playing in two college showcase tournaments this fall and in the summer of 2005. We will also play in two state tournaments, several local tournaments and a national tournament.
