Insley leads MOC
in cross-country
NEWTON -- Tim Insley paced Mount Olive College by finishing 17th out of 68 runners at the Lenoir-Rhyne Cross Country Invitational at Newton. Insley ran the 8K course in a time of 28:27.
Christof Franzsen placed 51st at 31:47, while Fernando Crisosto finished 56th at 32:57.
In the women's race, Becky Garrod placed 45th out of 52 runners in the 5K with a time of 25:07. Jillian Pruett finished 50th at 28:03, while Nicky Ross was 52nd at 34:54.
Mount Olive competes in the ECU Invitational Saturday morning at Greenville.
TEACH tennis tops Warrior JVs
The TEACH tennis team pulled out a 5-4 win over the Eastern Wayne JV tennis team Thursday in a match played at the Warriors' home courts.
TEACH used doubles wins at Nos 1 and 3 doubles to break a 3-3 tie after singles matches. Winning in singles for Eastern Wayne (8-5) were Karry Burnette, Minerva Rodriguez and Jana Painter.
