Taylor pushes Snow Hill to victory

WILSON -- Blake Taylor hit a pair of doubles and picked up the win on the mound in a strong relief effort as Snow Hill Post 94 picked up a 9-5 American Legion baseball win over Wilson Sunday afternoon.
Taylor, who hit 3-for-5 for the game, won in relief of starter Jordy Grady. But both pitchers got excellent run support as Snow Hill scored a pair of runs in each of the first two innings, then tacked on three more in the fifth to pull away. Brian James closed out the game for Snow Hill (7-9, 2-4). Jordy Davis hit a home run and was 2-for-5.
Brent Godwin took the loss for Wilson.
Snow Hill plays host to Wayne County today, and is at Kinston Tuesday.
