Area roundup -- Aycock Junior Legion drops Winterville

WINTERVILLE -- Aycock Junior Legion pitchers Brandon Edgerton and Jay Rose combined on a three-hitter as their offense exploded for 10 runs in the sixth to claim a 14-2 win at Winterville in six innings.
Edgerton picked up the win, yielding only two unearned runs in four innings. Rose came on to finish the game in relief.
Aaron Kline had two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Jackson Massey and Joseph Toler, who doubled, added two hits. Bennett Jeffreys provided a double and three RBI.
Aycock (5-1) travels to face Tri-County East at Washington High School on Saturday at 5 p.m..
Snow Hill juniors win
in extra innings
VANCEBORO -- Snow Hill Junior Legion's Trey Beamon had two hits as Post 94 defeated West Craven 4-2 in nine innings at West Craven High School.
Josh Elmore picked up the win in two innings of relief work.
Snow Hill (4-2) faces Cary at home on Saturday for a double-header, beginning at 3 p.m.

In the first flight, Novella Zambelli won low gross and Charlotte Campbell claimed low net.
In the second flight, Linda Cannon took low gross and Dot Julian took low net.
