WCMA rules clinic
A free golf rules clinic is being held today at 6:30 p.m. at the Herman Park Center. Several area golf professionals will be on hand to discuss commonly violated rules. Golfers planning on playing in the Wayne County Men's Amateur Tournament and the junior tournament are encouraged to attend this clinic.
Goldsboro Parks and Rec open gym
The Goldsboro Parks and recreation Department will hold open gym free play basketball at Goldsboro Middle School and Dillard Middle School Monday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m. starting Thursday. For more information call Jeffrey Winbush at 739-7488.

Legion baseball alumni golf tournament
The Wayne County American Legion Baseball Booster Club will host the second annual alumni golf tournament May 27 at Southern Wayne Country Club. Entry fees are $40 per player and the format is four-man superball. A cookout will be held at the clubhouse following play. Former Legion players from any year are encouraged to attend and share memories and fellowship. Walnut Creek CC tennis clinic
The Walnut Creek Country Club will host a free tennis clinic on May 31 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Walnut Creek Tennis Courts to introduce beginners to the game of tennis. Rackets will be available to borrow for this event.
CBA tennis camp
The annual Charles B. Aycock Tennis Camp will be held from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. June 7-10 at the Aycock tennis courts. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-17 and offers instruction for beginner, intermediate and advanced players. Cost is $75 and campers may register by calling coach Luke Vail at 242-4300 or 242-5542.
CBA baseball camp
The 12th annual Grand Slam baseball camp will be held June 7-10 from 9 a.m. until noon at Charles B. Aycock baseball field for ages 6-13 . Camp Director is Charles B. Aycock baseball coach Charles Davis. Cost for the camp is $60 and includes T-shirt. Two or more campers from the same family will be charged $50 each. Greene Co. baseball camp
The Greene County Baseball Day Camp will be directed by James Fulghum June 7-10 at the Greene Central HS baseball field. Boys ages 6-10 will come to camp from 9 a.m.-noon. Boys ages 11-14 will be at camp from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.. The cost of one session is $60 or two campers from the same family is $50 each. Campers should bring gloves, towels and any equipment desired. A limited number of campers will be admitted during each session to insure maximum individual attention. Lady Sting soccer tryouts
The Neuse River Youth Soccer Association's Goldsboro Lady Sting Classic soccer team will have open try-outs on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., June 5 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and June 8 from 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Goldsboro Family Y Soccer Complex. The established U-18 and U-16 girls teams need additional players. Players who want to play on a traveling soccer team next year must register through the NRYSA. CBA cheerleading camp
The Charles B. Aycock High School cheerleaders will host a youth cheerleading camp June 9-11 from 9 a.m.-noon each day. The camp is open to both boys and girls ages 5-12 and the cost is $45 per camper. Cost includes a camp T-shirt and a snack each day. Charles B. Aycock boys basketball coach David West and girls basketball coach Gary Hales will direct a boys and girls basketball camp for ages 6-13 from June 14-17 from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. in the Golden Falcons' gymnasium. CBA softball camp
Charles B. Aycock softball coach David West will direct the Bunt N' Run softball camp for girls ages 6-13 at the Golden Falcons' softball diamond from June 21-24 from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per camper and $40 per additional camper from the same family. GHS girls basketball camp
Goldsboro High girls basketball coach Gladys McClary will sponsor a free basketball camp for girls ages 7-16 at Goldsboro High for the fifth-straight year. Spring Creek baseball camps
Spring Creek High School baseball coach Roger May will conduct two sessions of the Spring Creek Summer Baseball Camp -- a hitting camp June 8-10 and a position player camp June 15-17. Both camps are for ages 7-12 and times will be from 9 a.m. until noon with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Spring Creek High School. Cost is $45 for one cam or $70 for two. Siblings get a 25 percent discount for each additional sibling. Bus transportation is available from the Family Y. For more information call Roger May at 736-8333.
EW summer baseball camp
The 10th annual Eastern Wayne baseball camp is scheduled for June 21-25 on the Warriors' baseball diamond. The week-long camp is available for players ages 7-14 and those players will either be divided into age groups or ability level. The camp runs daily from 9 a.m.-noon and is $65 per player. However, the fee is $120 for two players from the same family. Registration is $60 per player if there are three or more from the same summer or fall team. You can register the first day of camp but the first 80 players will be selected. Players will receive instruction in hitting, throwing, catching, pitching, outfield play, infield play, and base running. Bill Clingan's basketball camp
Mount Olive men's basketball coach Bill Clingan's basketball camp will be June 28-July 1 at College Hall on the MOC Campus. Boys and girls ages 6-15 are invited to attend. Camp staff includes MOC basketball coaches, current/former college players and high school coaches. Registration and prospective campers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee enrollment. Cost is $140 with a $25 deposit required to reserve a space. Fee includes hot lunches, T-shirt, contests and prizes, guest speakers and a low camper-staff ratio. Bring a friend and receive a $10 discount. MOC baseball camp
Mount Olive baseball coach Carl Lancaster will direct two sessions of the Mount Olive College baseball camp. The first session from July 25-27 is for campers ages 8-12, or those who will still be playing on 60-foot bases the next season. Registration will be held on July 25 from noon until 2 p.m. in the lobby of Grantham Hall. The second session from July 28-30 is for campers ages 13-18, however, 12-year olds who will be playing on 90-foot bases should attend this session. Registration will be held on July 28 from noon-2 p.m. in the lobby of Grantham Hall. Each session will end with an All-Star game and an awards ceremony. The cost of a day student is $175, which includes all instruction, camp activities, T-shirt, lunch, dinner and insurance. E. Wayne volleyball camp
The Eastern Wayne High School volleyball camp is scheduled for June 28-July 1 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the new gymnasium. The camp is open for players in grades 7-12 and a pre-registration fee of $65 is required. The first 25 campers to pay will attend. The staff includes Methodist College head coach Eddie Mathews, Eastern Wayne head coach Bruce Burridge and former Eastern Wayne players. WCDS baseball camp
Wayne Country Day baseball coach Michael Taylor will direct a camp for children in grades 3-7 from 9 a.m.-noon, June 28-July 1 at the Chargers' field. Randy Tilley basketball camp
The 17th annual Randy Tilley basketball camp will be held at Wayne Country Day School in two sessions -- July 5-9 and July 12-16 -- from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The camp is for boys and girls ages 4 1/2 through 18. Transportation can be provided from nearly any location. Cost is $150 per camper. A discount will be offered to families with more than one camper. A parent of a camper that is a teacher for Wayne County public school or WCDS will also receive a discount. A $35 deposit is required to reserve a spot at the camp. Staff and guest speakers will include college coaches and players. Local coaches and players will work the camp as staff. A camp registration desk will be open July 4-11 from 2-4 p.m. at the school gym. Late registration will take place at 8 p.m. on the first day of both sessions. Eurotech Soccer Camps
Goldsboro Parks and Recreation will present the Eurotech Soccer Camp from July 26-30 at the Family Y Complex. Separate camps will be available for ages 5-8, 9-12, 13-16. Cost is $95 per camper and the registration deadline is July 12. For more information, contact Jeffrey Winbush at (919) 739-7488.
El Bethel Youth Tournament
