Fairchild-Howard finish 1-1 in 3-A state championships

BURLINGTON -- Charles B. Aycock's doubles of Danny Fairchild-Brandon Howard reached the quarterfinals of the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A championships Friday afternoon.
Fairchild-Howard started the day with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 win against Crest's Aaron Oliver-Steven Dorn. They stumbled in the next round 6-1, 6-0 against Hickory's Rom Teague-Tripp Johnson.
