Rosewood's Javon Williams won the 100 and 200 meter and participated in two of the Eagles' three wins in relays as Rosewood claimed the 2004 Class 1-A Carolina Conference track and field championship.
The Eagles, who finished with 167.5 team points, won their sixth straight Carolina title.
Farmville Central finished second with 138 points, while Spring Creek took third with 86. North Johnston (85) and North Duplin (35) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Ayden-Grifton (23) and Princeton (22.5) rounded out the team scoring.
Spring Creek's McKenzie Jones turned in a solid day, winning the long jump (19-8) and the 400 meter (52.93). Jones finished second to Williams in both the 100 and 200 meter.
Rosewood, who won the 4x400, 4x200 and 4x100 relays, also got a first place effort in the triple jump from Jeremy Ruesch (38-1.25). Farmville Central was disqualified from two relay races after dropping the baton and picking it up outside the exchange zone.
The top four finishers in each event will participate in the 1-A Eastern Regionals at Rosewood on May 15.
