Baseball -- Cougars silence Hawks' bats

PINETOPS -- SouthWest Edgecombe's Lee Hawkins yielded just two hits in seven innings of work as the Cougars dropped North Lenoir 4-1 in Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference action on Tuesday.
The Hawks (10-8, 2-2 EPC) committed four errors in the loss as they look to bounce back on Friday at home against Tarboro at 7 p.m.
Stihl Sowers contributed a double and an RBI for the Hawks.
Marvin Buck took the loss for North Lenoir.
