DUDLEY -- Ayden-Grifton's Adam Andrews took medalist honors with a 35 as the Chargers emerged with the win at the last regular season Class 1-A Carolina Conference golf match played at Southern Wayne Country Club.
Ayden-Grifton finished with 154 team points, followed closely by Rosewood at 155.
Spring Creek had 161 as North Johnston fired a 164 and Princeton notched a 170.
Farmville Central (178) and North Duplin (183) rounded out the team scoring.
The Eagles were paced by Blake Blanton's 36 and Joey Wagner's 38. The Gators got a 39 from Jami Crampton and a 40 from Billy Wilkins.
North Johnston's Dustin Philyaw fired a 38 to lead the Panthers, while Princeton's Brandon Woodard shot a 37. North Duplin was led by Grayson Morgan (46).
The conference tournament will be Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course.
Rams, Hawks
finish tied
KINSTON -- Greene Central and North Lenoir finished tied for the win with 326 team points each at a Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference golf match at Sleepy Creek.
The Rams were paced by Colby Murphy (80) and Brandon Jones (81).
North Lenoir's Spenser Hill shot a 70, while Blaire Cruz shot an 80.
South Lenoir's Austin Hardison took medalist honors with a 74.
SouthWest Edgecombe followed the Rams and Hawks with a 331, while North Pitt shot a 336. South Lenoir (351) and Tarboro (367) rounded out the team scoring.
Greene Central (24-6-1 overall) moved to 23-3-1 in the conference heading into Monday's match at Cotton Valley Country Club.
