MOREHEAD CITY -- Amy Fritt emerged a triple winner and Charles B. Aycock avenged its only loss of the season with a 79-71 victory against Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference girls track rival West Carteret on Thursday afternoon.
Fritt claimed the 100 meters in 13.45 seconds, the 200 in 28.42 and the pole vault with a mark of seven feet even.
Long-distance specialist Liza Davis prevailed in the 1,600 (6 minutes) and 3,200 (12:51). Cassandra Worrell claimed the triple jump (31-2) and long jump (14-6), while Keyatta Pettiford captured the high jump (4-2).
The Golden Falcons swept all four relays and picked up valuable points when they grabbed the top four spots in the long jump.
C.B. Aycock (8-4, 5-1 ECC) takes nearly two weeks off before entertaining Princeton in a non-conference meet on April 20.
