Tennis -- Spring Creek topples A-G

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek won five of six singles matches and eased past Ayden-Grifton 8-1 in Carolina/Eastern Plains 1-A/2-A Conference play Tuesday afternoon.
Will Daniel, Cliff Wilson, Grey Wilson and Justin Hardy each picked up a straight-set win in singles. Fourth-seeded Ricky Galloway battled back to defeat the Chargers' Eric Dendy 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.
The Gators swept the doubles.
Spring Creek (10-1, 9-1 C/EPC) takes the next two weeks off before entertaining Tarboro on April 20. Today's match at East Duplin has been canceled.
