HOLLYWOOD -- Garrett Davis fired a one-hit, complete-game shutout as Charles B. Aycock dominated D.H. Conley 18-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Davis recorded nine strikeouts in the contest, which was shortened to five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
He also helped his cause offensively with two hits, including a double, in four at-bats.
Bradley Taylor, Chris King, Cortez Gilbert, Casey Cole, Aaron Kline and Jackson Massey each contributed two hits. Gilbert and Massey each had a double.
The Golden Falcons improved to 6-1 in the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference with a 12-4 victory Tuesday afternoon at Washington.
Davis, again, helped lead the offense with three hits in four plate appearances.
Taylor homered in a 2-for-3 showing, while Joseph Toler turned in a 2-for-4 effort.
Grant Sasser claimed the pitching win, striking out 10 and surrendering two earned runs on eight hits and one walk.
C.B. Aycock (10-1) entertains Wilson Beddingfield next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
