Track -- Eagle boys take Carolina meet

FARMVILLE -- Javon Williams dominated the 100 and 200 runs and helped Rosewood knock off Farmville Central 96-72 in a Carolina 1-A Conference meet Thursday afternoon.

Williams won the 100 in 11.2 seconds and took the 200 in 23.4.

Fellow Eagle Jeremy Reusch triumphed in the triple jump (35-6 3/4) and 300 hurdles (44.4). James Reusch emerged the top long jumper (18-6), while Bradley Mullins won the 400.

Rosewood took the 400 and 800 relays.

Farmville Central's Robert Brady had a career-best discus throw and the Jaguars won eight events, but came up short in their bid to win the meet. Brady, the defending state champion in the discus, had a throw of 153-feet, seven inches.

Caitlin Poole (3,200), Erica Murray (100 hurdles) and Kerry Garner (400) each pulled out an individual win for the Eagle girls.

Farmville Central collected 83 points compared to 35 for Ayden-Grifton and 28 for the Eagles.
