Baseball -- Jones leads FC past North Duplin

FARMVILLE -- Farmville Central got a strong outing from Kyle Jones on Tuesday, helping the Jaguars earn a 9-3 win at North Duplin in a Carolina 1-A Conference matchup.
Jones didn't allow an earned run in four innings of work, striking out nine along the way. He allowed only three hits and walked one against the Rebels.
Jones also finished 2-for-4, while also receiving offensive support from Tommy Cobb and Matt Vandiford, who each collected two hits. Cobb and Mark Ross homered for the Jaguars.
Farmville Central (5-5, 3-1) plays at Princeton Friday night at 7 p.m.
