Rosewood knocks off Princeton

PRINCETON -- Rosewood placed first in 12 of 13 events and received three individual first-place finishes from Brandon Briggs in a 90-18 victory against Princeton in Class 1-A Carolina Conference indoor track competition.

Briggs prevailed in the long jump (17 feet, 73Ú8 inches), triple jump (36-7) and high jump (5-8). He also ran the lead leg on the winning 3,200-meter relay team.

Jeremy Reusch, Bobby Calcote and Robert Rast each claimed a pair of first-place finishes. Michael Render claimed the shot put.

Princeton's Jonathon Hinnant captured the 3,200.

Sa'Coya Cox emerged victorious in the 55 meters, shot put and 300 meters as Rosewood nearly doubled up Princeton 61-48.

Fellow Eagles Kerry Garner and Heather Murray each picked up a couple of individual wins. Rosewood swept the relay events.

Summer Graham recorded three individual wins for the Bulldogs. The senior distance runner took the 1,600, 1,000 and 3,200.
