Primary 2008Return to the list of candidates. Chris RogersonAge: 37 Residence: Kinston Occupation: Private-practice attorney with own practice Law School: Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law Q: How do you plan to work to make District Court more efficient and effective? A: To make things more efficient and effective in District Court requires the cooperation of several different groups in the judicial system, as well as in the community. I would first propose that we use closed-circuit television hearings. My second proposal is to allow Class H and Class I felonies to be heard in District Court. My third proposal is to maximize court and community resources for juvenile offenders. Q: Why are you the best candidate for this position? A: I am the only candidate that has, throughout his entire legal career, handled every type of case that a District Court judge hears on a daily basis. My passion for being a District Court judge, along with my trial experience, gives me the tools necessary to be a judge who can effectively manage court dockets without compromising the fairness and impartiality that is inherent in our justice system. |
