Mrs. Bertha Dickerson Sutton, 100, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Aunt Bert," 3229 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C., passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Wayne UNC Health Care Center in Goldsboro, N.C., and surrounded by her family members.

Bertha was born in Wayne County, N.C., Oct. 23, 1917, to the late Mr. Will Harvey and Mrs. Zelphia Dickerson-Harvey.

Mother Sutton was a loving, dedicated, faithful and the oldest member of Little Rock Church in Pikeville, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Anderson Sutton.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Word of Truth Christian Fellowship Church, 1401 N. Carolina St., Goldsboro, N.C. Dr. Billy H. Newton will officiate.

Interment will follow in Fremont Memorial Park Cemetery, 174 Winding Branch Road, Fremont, N.C.

Also, a public viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Little Rock Church, 1307 N.C. 581, Pikeville, N.C., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mother Sutton leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her daughters, Mary Richardson and husband, Rudolph, Wanda Sutton Forsythe and Joyal Newkirk and husband, Jerome, all of Goldsboro, N.C., and Angelene Wilder and husband, Mack, of Washington, D.C.; her grandson, Michael Sutton of Goldsboro, N.C.; her sister, Georgia Harper of Fremont, N.C.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and also a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousins, other relatives and friends.

Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, the family members and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Richardson of 3229 Central Heights Road, Lot 3, Goldsboro, N.C., at 11:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
