Melanie Horton, 52, Wilson, passed away Monday.
Her memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Black Creek United Methodist Church, 200 Church St., Black Creek, N.C. Pastor Tuck Taylor will officiate.
Melanie is survived by her sisters, Dianne Stewart of Goldsboro and Mardelle Lackey of McKinney, Texas; extended family, Crissy Ovavits of Kenly and Robin Davis of Wilson; her band, The Nutones; her canine companion, Gracie May; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Janette Horton, and a sister, Judy Shattuck.
