John Dale Parks, 63, Mebane, died Thursday at UNC Health Care at Chapel Hill.
Born in Wayne County on Oct. 4, 1953, he was the son of the late John Oscar Parks and Myrtle Lane Parks Hill.
A graveside service will be held today at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Orange United Methodist Church, 1220 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life gathering at Pantana Bob's Restaurant, 305 W. Rosemary St., Chapel Hill.
