HENRY COUNCIL

Henry Council, 90, formerly of Salemburg and resided in Goldsboro, passed away at Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro Sunday morning, Oct. 16, 2016.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. at The Tabernacle of Prayer, 1005 S. John St., Goldsboro.
He proudly served in the United States Army.
Following his military career, he worked for the city of Goldsboro, where he retired after 25 years of service.
Seventeen children came from the union of Henry Council and the late Mary Lee Council.
He leaves five daughters, Doretha Flenoy (Harold) of Texas, Brenda Sanders (Calvin) of Goldsboro, Linda Yelverton (Michael) of Goldsboro, Susie Artis of Goldsboro and Dorothy Mccintock of Goldsboro, and three sons, Willie Council of Goldsboro, Jerome Council (Paulette) of Goldsboro and Desaunta Council of Goldsboro.
He also leaves 117 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Levi James Pridgen of Salemburg; and three sisters, Edna Lee Wilson of MarMac, Josephine Howard of Baltimore, Md., and Marie of Fayetteville.
