MILDRED LEE DAVIS

Mildred was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Snow Hll, N.C.
She departed this life Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., Wednesday, March 16, 2016, from 2 to 6 p.m.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016, at noon at Pentecostal Holy Church, with pastor Willie Lewis officiating.
Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mildred attended Goldsboro City Schools.
She was a longtime member of Pentecostal Holy Church, where she was active in the floral club.
She worked for many years at Lynch's Restaurant.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her children, reading the Bible, gardening and keeping in touch with her family and friends.
For 48 years, she was a family friend and caregiver to Charles and Nancy Norwood and their children, Sarah Norwood Moorman, Anne Norwood Mitchell and John C. Norwood.
She was devoted to her family members, who were all "so precious" to her.
Mildred is survived by her mother, Anna Yelverton, and her four children, Anna Williams and her children, Michelle Davis, Jarvis Davis and James Earl Davis, Carolyn Coley and her children, Milford Davis, Pamela Coley, Sanica Coley, and elder Carl Davis and wife, Mary, and their children, Sharounda Davis, Brandon Davis and Kiquna James.
There are 19 surviving great-grandchildren; a brother, James Donnie Mann and his wife, Sandra, and children, Donnie Mann and Kim Mann and their children, Jamil Mann and Donovan Mann.
She is also survived by a longtime friend, Virginia Coley.
She is preceded in death by good friend and neighbor, "Miss Emma" Faison.
