Oweita T. "Susie" Futrell, 56, Lincolnton, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 31, 1958, in Craven County to the late Heber and Ethel Harvell Thornton.
Susie was a member of Shalom Baptist Church in Lincolnton, and she enjoyed sewing, quilting and teaching Bible studies, and was employed with Shelby Medical Associates as a medical lab technologist.
Those left to cherish her memory are husband of 37 years, Mike Futrell of the home; son, Matthew Futrell and wife, Angela, of Lincolnton; daughter, Melissa Isaacks and husband, John, of Lincolnton; brother, Herbert T. Thornton and wife, Mary Ann, of New Bern; sister, Loleta Andrews and husband, Robbie, of New Bern; and grandchildren, Makayla Futrell, Jaxson Futrell, Landon Futrell, Tyler Avery and Johnathan Clayton Isaacks.
A service to celebrate Susie's life will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton. Dr. Charles M. Futrell will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
