Mr. Solomon George, 81, 185 Bartlett Road, Warsaw, N.C., departed his earthly life Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, N.C.
Solomon was born in Sampson County Jan. 7, 1934. He was born to the late Mrs. Ardella Stanley George and Mr. Syvester George.
After high school and attending other classes, he was qualified to become a security guard, and worked at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at noon in Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C. Prophecy Ruby G. Smith will officiate.
Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
Also, a public viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 4 to 5 p.m.
Mr. George leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his son, Mack George of Goldsboro, N.C.; his daughter, Emma George of Dudley, N.C.; his two daughters-in-law, Sylvia George of Frederick, Md., and Barbara George of Goldsboro, N.C.; his two brothers, James George of Faison, N.C., and David George of Warsaw, N.C.; his two sisters, Mary Leach of Clinton, N.C., and Joyce Frye of Atlanta, Ga.; a special and devoted niece, Helen G. Evans of Stedman, N.C.; a special and devoted nephew, Leo George of Warsaw, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 10:50 a.m. at the residence of Ms. Emma George, 315 Brentwood Drive, Dudley, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
