Shirley Hines Jenkins, 56, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Sally," 407 Murray St., Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at her residence.
Shirley was born in Wayne County Aug. 11, 1958, to the late Mrs. Sarah Daniels Hines.
She received her education in the public school system of Wayne County.
Shirley was employed with the state of North Carolina for many years. At the time of her earthly departure, Shirley was employed with Sampson Laundry, where she served as a supervisor.
Shirley was a member of Christ Memorial Church Center of Goldsboro, N.C., where she served on the usher board.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Central Heights Free Will Baptist Church, 302 Ervin Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Diane McIntyre will officiate.
Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
After the graveside committal rites, family and friends will gather back at the church for a repast.
Also, a public viewing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.
Ms. Jenkins leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her three daughters, Akina Corder, Akilah Corder and Alisha Williams all of the home; her brother, Johnnie Earl Hines of Waco, Texas; her three sisters, Sandra Hines of Waco, Texas, Debra McAllister (Kevin) of Dallas, Texas, and Leslie Nicholson of Goldsboro, N.C.; her six grandchildren, Emaj Bell, Akiya Bell, Al Dunn Jr., Amaja Bell, Aljera Dunn and A'deija Swinson all of Goldsboro, N.C.; her special son-in-law, Jamell Bell; her uncle, Sherwood Daniels; her special friend, Charles Royall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 9:50 a.m. at Ms. Shirley Jenkins' residence, 407 Murray St., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
