DEACON LYNWOOD ALLEN ROBINSON

Deacon Lynwood Allen Robinson, 58, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Lynwood," 104 Deen St., Mount Olive, N.C., departed his earthly life Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at his residence in Mount Olive, N.C.
Lynwood was born in Wayne County Nov. 25, 1956. He was born to the late Deacon Rosell Robinson and Mother Luevonia Broadhurst Robinson.
He received his education in the public school system of Wayne County. Lynwood attended Eastern Wayne High School, and graduated in the Class of 1975. Also, he continued his education at Wayne Community College.
Lynwood was employed with Duke Progress Energy Co. for more than 29 years.
He served his country, and retired after 20 years in the United States Army National Guard of North Carolina.
He was a member and deacon at Smith Chapel Church and Northwest B Conference trustee.
Deacon Robinson was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary R. Taylor, Brenda R. Mervin and Denise Robinson.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Bear Creek Association Headquarters Church, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Antonio Blow will officiate.
Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.
Also, a public viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Deacon Robinson leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory his wife, Bebra Robinson of the home; a son, Derrick (DeShanna) of Stockbridge, Ga.; four sisters, Priscilla R. Best of Goldsboro, N.C., Gloristeen Isler of Dudley, N.C., and Carolyn (John) Cox and Chris (Larry) Johnson all of Goldsboro, N.C.; five brothers, Roselle (Alice) Robinson of Tacoma, Wash., Jackie Robinson of Phillipsburg, N.J., Donald Robinson of Goldsboro, N.C., Michael (Felicia) Robinson of Browns Summit, N.C., and James Robinson of Charlotte, N.C.; two aunts; an uncle; three granddaughters; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, family members and friends will assemble an hour prior at 11:50 a.m. at the residence of Mrs. Bebra Robinson, 104 Deen St., Mount Olive, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
