VALERIE BENJAFIELD MILLER

Valerie Benjafield Miller passed away Monday morning, Dec. 22, 2014, in Goldsboro, N.C.
She was born April 21, 1940, in Great Yarmouth, England, to the late Albert Charles Benjafield and Violet Smith Benjafield.
Valerie went to school and grew up in Great Yarmouth, England, before marrying Larry Lee Miller Aug. 15, 1958.
Before retiring in 1990, Valerie worked at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Exchange for 13 years as a retail order associate.
Prior to entering the work force, Valerie chose to be a full-time mother until her children were grown.
Valerie traveled to many countries on her years of adventures, loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, knitting, painting, volunteering with the ladies of St. Francis church and the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
Valerie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Larry Miller.
Valerie was a loving mother and Nana to her three children, Donna and Gabino Aguilar of High Point, N.C., Russell and Lyn Miller of Goldsboro, N.C., and Gina and Kevin Chapman of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren, Russell Aguilar, Ryan and Jamie Miller and Emma Chapman; and four great-grandchildren.
Valerie had many family members in England.
Valerie was preceded in death by her sister, Jean, and brothers, Brian, Bobby and Tony.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Saint Francis Episcopal Church, 503 Forest Hill Drive in Goldsboro. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium, and the family will receive friends following.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
