Mr. John Earl Parks, 70, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Moose," 150 Martin Road, Goldsboro, N.C., departed his earthly life Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.

John was born in Wayne County Dec. 16, 1943. He was born to the late Mrs. Mary Davis Parks and Mr. Leslie Parks Sr.

He received his education in the public school system of Wayne County, and he graduated from Dillard High School in Goldsboro, N.C.

Also, John was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Forte Parks, and his three siblings, Dorothy Parks, Leslie Parks Jr. and James Parks.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C. Mr. Anthony Parks will officiate.

Burial will be held in Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 441 Casey Mill Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333.

Also, a public viewing will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 9 to 9:50 a.m. in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C.

Mr. Parks leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his two sons, Anthony Parks and wife, Leigh Ann Parks, of Holly Springs, N.C., and John Parks and wife, Heather Parks, of Chester, Va.; five grandsons and seven granddaughters; a brother, Willie Parks and wife, Ann Parks, of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Delorise Parks, JoAnn Parks and Janice Bishop; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Thursday, July 3, 2014, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 8:50 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral line up and funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
