Billie "Bill" Berton Berends Jr., 57, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at his home.
Bill was born in San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 16, 1956, to Billie B. Berends Sr. and the late Ruth Ramsey Berends.
He was employed as a customer service representative with Commercial Business Systems in Goldsboro.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, from 4 to 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service of remembrance at 5 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Teresa Sasser Berends; daughter, Kristy Berends; son, Brandon Payson; sister, Debra Berends; niece, Ashley Renfroe; and grandniece, Haylee Shariff.
