JACK FOREST MOORE SR.

Jack Forest Moore Sr., 86, went to be with his Lord on Friday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Major Andrew Wiley and the Rev. Morris Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery with military honors and officiated by the Rev. Bill Rose.
Jack was born in Wayne County to the late Edward Matthew and Sally Mae Watson Moore. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After serving his country, Jack began working with the family business, Moore's Roofing Company. He was a member of the National Historical Association. Jack had a great love for fishing and gardening, but always got great pleasure in cooking for his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Jack is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vennie Lee Boyette Moore; his children, Jack Forrest Moore Jr. of Salem, S.C., Cynthia Lee Vinson and husband, Ray, of Mount Olive, Sharon Lee Alawar and husband, Raylop, of Goldsboro, and Karen Lee Rowe and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro. He loved his grandchildren, Keri Elizabeth Moore, Thomas Ray Vinson, Rebecca Lee Vinson Pope and husband, Anthony, Summer Lee Wilson and husband, Joshua, Taylor Skye King, Tyler James Rowe and Abigail Mae Rowe. Jack adored and loved the time with his great-grandchildren, Bella Marie Vinson, Landon Ray Pope and Jackson Matthew Wilson. He was also anxiously anticipating the birth of his fourth great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Davy and husband, Bob, of Emerald Isle; special nieces, Hilda Allen and Donna Allen; and a special nephew, Steve Moore. Jack is also survived by his wife's family and many other special nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Bootsie Smith and her girls, Teresa, Donna and Misty for their love and support during Jack's declining health.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 112 Patrick St., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends today, April 10, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Raylop Alawar, 106 Autumn Winds Drive, Goldsboro.
