ELSIE C. KEARNEY
SNOW HILL -- Elsie Mae Carraway Kearney, 78, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. Mrs. Kearney was a native of Greene County born March 5, 1932, the daughter of Turner and Stella Barfield Carraway. She was a member of Saint's Delight Free Will Baptist Church in the Ormondsville Community.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Snow Hill Cemetery with the Rev. James Owens officiating.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kearney was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Kearney in 1998.
Her surviving family includes her daughter, Patricia Kearney Wade and husband, Victor of Ormondsville; sons, Larry Kearney and wife, Sandy of Stantonsburg and Anthony Kearney and wife, Linda of Carrolton, Va.; grandchildren, Christian Holden of Carrolton, Va., Adam Kearney of Greenville, S.C., Steven Kearney of Stantonsburg, and Raymond Wade of Greenville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Riley Holden and Korey Holden; and sisters, Evelyn Eaks of Greenville and Mildred Reeves of Vinton, Va.; and her caregivers to whom special thanks are given, Sandy Kearney, Ginger Vick and 3HC Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the Wade residence, 3035 Ormondsville Road, Ayden, N.C. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylor-tyson.com
