BEN P. GRADY

MOUNT OLIVE -- Ben P. Grady, 94, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011.
He had been a farmer, and in later years, was employed with Burlington Industries.
He was a longtime member of Bear Marsh Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Jan. 21, from 7 until 9 p.m., and at his residence at other times.
Mr. Grady is survived by his four children, Preston Grady and wife, Shirley, of Roanoke Rapids, Juanita Tillman of Moncure, C.B. Grady of Pikeville and Clara Crase of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Betty Butts of Greenville; a brother, Thomas Earl Johnson of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Ethel Brock Grady; his second wife, Dorothy Mae Ferguson Grady; an infant daughter, Blanche Grady; his parents, Jim Grady and Mamie Vernon Grady Johnson; his stepfather, Joe Johnson; a brother, Ludy "Dude" Grady; a sister, Georgia Lee; and a brother and sister, who died in childhood, Ralph and Patty Grady.
