Charles Edgar York, 88, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Woodard's Care.
Graveside services will be today, Jan. 9, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke.
Charlie was born in Wayne County on May 5, 1922, to the late Charles E. York and Francis Strickland York. He was a member of the First Christian Church and retired as a brickmason.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Rebecca Thomas York; his daughter, Anne Jernigan and husband, Troy, of Goldsboro; his son, Charles York and wife, Emily, of Goldsboro; his four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the First Christian Church at 1609 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends today, Jan. 9, 2011, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
