MOUNT OLIVE -- Paul Clinon Crumpler "Little Doc," 75 passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Paul was born Oct. 26, 1934, in Lakeland, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, Sybil Barrett Crumpler of the home; a daughter, Amy Mullen of Woodbury, Minn.; and two sisters, Ann Dewar of Mount Olive and Hildred Caison of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and James Edwin "J.E." Crumpler; two brothers, Dr. W.H. Crumpler and Robert James "Bobby" Crumpler all of Mount Olive.

Paul is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and his very special four legged companion, Leroy.

Paul had a magnetic personality, and he always had a tale to tell to regale his family and friends. This story telling ability was influenced by his father, who also famously told tales, tall and otherwise.

Paul led a very adventurous life beginning with his work for ICBM Systems of Sperry Rand Univac Corp., installing computer systems throughout the world. He later retired doing what he loved, fishing the great waters of North Carolina.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at Roseboro Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Steven Wicks.

Afterwards, family and friends will gather for a celebration of his life beginning at 4 p.m. at the Dewar residence at 510 Wells Street, Mount Olive.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shackelford and Dr. Atkins for their prompt attention of Paul these last few weeks.
