WILLIAM E. STOCKS SR.

Died July 24, 2009

HOOKERTON -- William Earl Stocks Sr., 71, died Friday.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. tonight at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden.

Burial will be take place Monday at 11 a.m. in Ayden Cemetery.

He was born in Greene County in 1938 to Hugh and Alma Lee Faulkner Stocks.

He was a member of Woodmen of the World, Little Creek Original FWB Church, where he was church treasurer for many years, and an avid UNC fan. He had been a faithful employee to Woodmen of the World for the past 25 years as an area manager and field representative. His previous employment was as a loan officer with First Federal Savings and Loan of Pitt County.

He is preceded in death by his wife and high school sweetheart of 39 years, Kay Mooring Stocks; his parents; and three brothers Hyman, Wallace and Tony Stocks.

His survivors include a son, William E. "Wes" Stocks and wife, Rhonda, of Goldsboro; one daughter, Sharon Chase and husband, Mike, of Snow Hill; five grandchildren, Brittany, Sydney and Blair Stocks of Goldsboro; and Hunter and Zack Chase of Snow Hill; and his beloved dog, Sammie.

Visitation will follow the service from 7 p.m. until
9 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to University Hospice, Dr. Robin Adams, Donnie and Judy Grant and also to all of the friends and community members who have given love, support and acts of kindness during his illness.
