MARY FRANCES V. DEAN
Mary Frances Vanhoy Dean, of 1402 Ninth St., passed away Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Dr. Robert Fulkerson and Dr. Talmidge Williams officiating. Relatives and close friends are invited to meet with the family at Madison Avenue Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the services.
The wife of B.E. Dean for 60 years, she was born in Forsythe County to the late Avahlee and John W. Vanhoy of Kernersville. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Lasley Vanhoy.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Eric Dean and wife, Celia of Goldsboro, Jody Dean and wife, Linda, of Goldsboro, Kris Dean of Dudley, and Alex Dean and wife, Joy, of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren, Christy Benson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lisa Taylor of Newport, Westley Dean of Goldsboro, and Tanner, Manning and Parker Dean of Chesapeake, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Trey and Zachary Benson, and Landon Taylor. She is also survived by a brother, John W. Vanhoy Jr. of Belews Creek.
The family wishes to thank the many friends that have offered help and support during her illness. Special thanks goes to Kitty Askins Hospice Center and 3HC's Judy Carroll and Jane Wilson for their care and kindness during this time.
