Ruthie Lee Baker, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Ruth," of 353 Vinson Road, was called by our Heavenly Father to her final resting place on Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bear Creek Association Headquarters Building, 1800 Slocumb St., with pastor Larry M. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery. A viewing will be conducted on Monday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., from 1 until 8 p.m. A wake will be held on Monday evening from 7 until 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel with the family present to receive other family members and friends.

Mrs. Ruthie Lee Baker was born to the late Mr. Willie Edwards and Mrs. Ruth D. Edwards in Greene County.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Lee Baker Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Mr. James Lee Baker of Goldsboro; three daughters, Gaynell Spruill and husband, Eddie, of Goldsboro, Grace Rouse and husband, Shelton, of Pikeville, and Ms. Marnetta Yelverton of Wilson; one son, James Rorie of Wilson; three granddaughters; seven grandsons; nine great-granddaughters; 11 great-grandsons; one sister, Glady Calvert and husband, Theodore, of Snow Hill; two brothers, William Edwards of Goldsboro, and Chester Edwards of Snow Hill; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Mae Baker and Bertha Lewis both of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. James Baker, 353 Vinson Road, Goldsboro.
