THOMAS N. CARLTON SR.

Thomas Nelson Carlton Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held tonight at Community Funeral Home from 6 to 8. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Warsaw Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in the Devotional Gardens Mausoleum.
His parents were the late David Herring and Reba Kornegay Carlton. He was predeceased by his brother, Wade Kornegay Carlton.
After graduating from Warsaw High School, he served in the Merchant Marines. He retired from Quinn Company after 49 years. In 1955, he was elected Master of Warsaw Lodge No. 677.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace Quinn Carlton. His children are Tana Carlton of Raleigh, Dacia Carlton Lewis and husband, Norman Colin Lewis, of Snow Hill, Thomas Nelson Carlton Jr. and wife, Alice Pate Carlton of Beaulaville. His grandchildren are Perry Colin Lewis, Buics Creek, Paten Carlton, all of Raleigh, and Quinn Carlton of Beulaville; brothers, David Hugh Carlton and Carson Fisher Carlton, both of Warsaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Warsaw Baptist Church, 209 E. College St., Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
