Danny Ray Coombs, 50, of Conway, died in Houston, Texas.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Garner officiating.
Born in Groton, Conn., he was the son of Wilbur and Jane Fields Coombs of Conway. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was a chemist.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Travis Kirk Coombs of Beaumont, Texas; three daughters, Susan Coombs, Katelyn Coombs and Keelyn Coombs all of Beaumont, Texas; a brother, David Coombs and wife, Cindy, of Hagerstown, Md.; and two nieces, Taylor Coombs and Kirstie Coombs, both of Hagerstown, Md.
Family members will greet friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of his aunt, Louise Stafford, 4057 McLain St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
