MILDRED C. MARLOWE
Died Feb. 5, 2009
Mildred Combs Marlowe, 87, of Kirkwood Retirement and formerly of Fremont, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Rex Marlowe.
Mrs. Marlowe was born in Wayne County to the late Nathan Addison and Ola Mae Pate Combs. She was preceded in death by sisters, Aileen Elmore, Virginia Williford and Peggy Whitfield; and brothers, H.B. Combs, Bob Combs and Leonard Combs. Many will remember her years with the sewing operations in Princeton and Fremont.
The family expresses its gratitude to her special friends, Mary Parsons, Peggy Rhew and all her neighbors at Kirkwood Retirement Center.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fremont FWB Church, followed by a time of visiting and sharing.
Surviving are sons, Rex Douglas Marlowe and wife, Brenda, of Franklin, Va., and Michael Marlowe and wife, Debbie, of Greensboro; grandchildren, Charity Marlowe of Greensboro, Elizabeth Marlowe of Richmond, Va., Michael Marlowe Jr. of Greenville; sisters, Vivian Lancaster of Pikeville and JoAnn King of Goldsboro; in-laws, Dale Parks Combs of Goldsboro, Ava and Bill Whitfield of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
