BILL TAYLOR

LAGRANGE -- James Erwin "Bill" Taylor, 72, 5002 Frink School Road, died Monday.
A service of remembrance will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Williams and the Rev. T.C. West officiating. Interment will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Bill was born June 8, 1936, in Lenoir County, to the late Ollie Dan Taylor Sr. and Emma Phelps Taylor. He was a lifelong farmer and worked for 16 years with Caswell Center. Bill was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he was formerly president of the Bethel Men's Club and twice received Bethel's Man of The Year Award. He served on the Lenoir County ABC Board and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1956. Bill enjoyed bird hunting, baseball and was an avid NCSU fan.
Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Braswell Taylor; daughter, Retha Jo Ginn and husband, Mike, of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Taylor Ginn and special family friend, Sara Farmer, Scotty Ginn and Chad Ginn; sister, Emma Griffin of Clovis, Calif.; five brothers, John Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla., Wiley Taylor of Liberty, William Ray Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla., Charles E. Taylor of Topeka, Kan. and Phillip N. Taylor of Wilmington; his faithful canine companion, Toby; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother, Mary Hensley, Margaret Terrell, Ollie Dan Taylor Jr. and Jean Taylor Hinson.
The family will receive friends following the service and at other times they will be at the home.
