ADELLE T. CHESTNUTT

PIKEVILLE -- Mary Adelle Thomas Chestnutt, 86, passed away Wednesday afternoon at the Brian Center surrounded by her family.
The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Adelle was born in Wayne County on Aug. 7, 1922, to the late Albert Thomas and Carrie Smith Thomas. She was married to the late Goldsboro Police Officer William Elwood Chestnutt. She was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Adelle is survived by her daughters, Alease C. Connor and husband, Lance, of Goldsboro and Renee' C. Turnage and husband, Joseph, of Princeton; her son, Dwight Chestnutt and wife, Debbie, of Pikeville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
At other times the family will be at her home, 466 Nor-Am Road, Pikeville.
