LaGRANGE -- Hazel Edgerton Barnes, 88, of 1289 LaGrange Road, passed away on Thursday evening at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Hazel was born in Johnston County on Dec. 15, 1920 to the late Fred Edgerton and Ila Sullivan Edgerton. She was married to the late Raymond Barnes. Hazel was a member of the Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Margie Holmes and husband, Kenneth, of LaGrange and Betty Tillman and husband, Billy, of Fremont; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Margie and Kenneth Holmes, 1289 LaGrange Road, LaGrange.
