LAURENS, S.C. -- Ethel Herring Orvin, 74, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Grady officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome Family Cemetery.
Ethel was born in Goldsboro on Aug. 12, 1934 to the late Ralph and Rebecca Smith Herring. She had owned and operated Ethel's Kountry Kitchen in Clinton, S.C. and Joanna Grill in Joanna, S.C.
She is survived by her son, Eric Orvin and wife, Lynn, of Mountville, S.C.; her daughter, Wendy Orvin of Gray Court, S.C.; her sister, Mary Rose Potter of Dudley; her brothers, Norwood Ray Herring of Moss Hill and Fred Herring of LaGrange; and her granddaughter, Erica Orvin.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 9, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister, Mary Rose Potter, 121 Moore Allen Street, Dudley.
