Mother Lillie H. Bowden, 80 lovingly known by her family as "Tam" entered into eternal rest Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The service of triumph and homegoing will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Greater Guiding Star United Holy Church with pastor Joseph Williams officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Elmwood Cemetery.
To cherish her loving memory, she leaves her sons, Billy Bowden of Goldsboro, Jonny Hicks of Charlotte and Joseph Beatty of Greensboro; six daughters, JoAnn Wilson of Calypso, Shirely Artis of Dudley, Carolyn Davis of Everett, Wash., Cynthia Kay Daye of Goldsboro, Maragret Moore of Washington and Brenda Bowden of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. with family present to receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of Brenda Bowden, 321 Nelson Drive, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
