STAFF SGT. RETIRED ZEB LANGSTON JR.

Staff Sgt. Retired Zeb Langston Jr., 75, of 604 Harris St., died Thursday in a car accident. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at First African Baptist Church, 803 E. Harris St. The Rev. Dr. Louis Leigh will officiate. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Memorial Garden with full military rites.
Sgt. Langston was born to the late Zeb Langston Sr. and Emma K. Langston. He was a 20-year veteran with the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam after retiring. Zeb earned an associate degree from Wayne Community College and was the owner of Langston Sand and Gravel. Being a man of talents, Zeb was an entrepreneur, landlord, farmer and carpenter. He was a life-long member of First African Baptist Church and J.W. Hood Masonic Lodge.
He leaves to cherish beautiful memories his wife, Mable S. Langston; one daughter, Anjanette S. Reed; two grandsons, Donald "Dee" Pollock III and Jarran K. Reed; one sister, Rosa B. Freeman; one foster brother, George Austin.
Viewing at Lightner Memorial Funeral Home will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
