Olive Blackman Matthews of Lakeland, Fla., died of heart failure Sunday. She was 86.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by husbands Arnold Eugene Head and William G. Matthews.
Born in Wayne County, N.C., she was the owner and operator of Head's Shell Station in Bennett's Creek, Va. Prior to owning the Shell station, she worked for F.W. Woolworth Company for 15 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Jean Hodges of Richmond, Va., and Linda McDonough of Lakeland, Fla.; her sister, Patty Lyster of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro.
