GREENVILLE -- Michael L. Moneyhun, died peacefully Saturday surrounded by his children.
Mike was born in Greenwood, Miss., to the late Marion and Mildred Stevens Moneyhun. Mike was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mike was a Korean War veteran of the Army and was retired from Professional Recovery Consultants after many years of loyal service.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. officiating. Entombment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Anne Harrison of Greenville; his sons, Donald Moneyhun and Romulo Santos of Greenville; grandson, Josh Harrison who will miss his "Papa" very much. Mike is also survived by a brother-in-law, Donald S. Nelson of Akron, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Anne, and his sister, Mildred "Sut" Nelson.
Mike and his family have been very blessed with so many loving and supportive family members and friends who have helped carry the heavy load the last two years. A special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Pitt Memorial Behavioral Health and University Home Health and Hospice. Collectively, you were all angels.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home.
