PRINCETON -- Ethel Leona Lamm Evans, 89, died Friday evening in Smithfield Manor. Born Oct. 2, 1918 in Johnston County to the late John Lee and Etta Lamm, she was the widow of Addie Rufus Evans who died on Jan. 30, 1983. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at the Oakland Community Church for many years. Ethel is probably best known for the home cooked foods and desserts that she has sold at the Wayne County Curb Market for more than 53 years.
Funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton with the Revs. Harold Salmons and Cecil Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Princeton Cemetery.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Durwood and Yvonne Evans Sr. of Princeton and Addie Rufus and Linda Evans Jr. of Goldsboro; four grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law, Durwood Lee and Dorothy Evans Jr. and Scott Evans all of Princeton, Travis and Barbara Hartley and Shannon and Dan Daniels, all of Goldsboro; five great-grandchildren, Luke Evans, Whitney Hartley, Leia Daniels, Evan Daniels and Cullen Daniels; and special friend and caregiver, Hazel Pearce
