Teresa S. Artis, 55, of 103 Cresent Drive went to be with the Lord Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. The Princeton native was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ethel Mae Sutton.
Teresa leaves to cherish her memories one son, Christopher Ivory Artis; two daughters, Tonna Latoria Artis of Virginia and Donna Carol Artis of Dudley; two grandchildren, X'Zavier and Kadiah Atkinson; five sisters, Thelma Barfield of Bronx, N.Y., Rosa Thompson of Goldsboro, N.C., Sandra Sykes of Princeton, N.C., Hattie Montague of Wilson, N.C., and Dorothy Loretta of Stantonsburg, N.C.; two brothers, Jasper Spruill of Smithfield, N.C., and Climmie "Hoss" Hillard of Princeton, N.C.; a very special friend, Purnell Lane of Pikeville, N.C.; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Gospel Tabernacle Church of Deliverance, which is located at 1015 N. James St., Goldsboro, N.C., with Bishop C.B. Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Selma Memorial Garden, Highway 301, Selma. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday with the family present to receive family and friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel and at other times at the home of Mrs. Sandra Sykes, 422 W. Second St., Princeton, N.C.
