Lila "Sug" Steven Waite, died Dec. 8, 2006, in Denver, Colo. She graduated from Dillard High School in 1965 and was a graduate of St. Augustine's College and the University of Colorado, Denver. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Stevens Hatcher and her stepfather, Andrew Hatcher.
A service was held Monday at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, Denver, Colo.
She is survived by her son, Steven "Kai" R. Waite and wife, Celin; two grandchildren, Amiri and Mariam, all of Denver, Colo.; aunt, Geraldine Stevens McIntyre of Goldsboro.
